I was pondering last night an upcoming book cover for my Free Rein series. The latest book will be published this year and I will need to decide on a cover photo. Some horse books out there have excellent covers! Others, not so much.
Some photos I’ve seen of action shots – someone going over a jump – and they’ve made me cringe. Others have been ideal – a great picture, a good riding position!
It got me thinking to the possibility of being a person who is photographed for horse related publications – an equine model. This may be for many things:
- Horse book covers
- Horse course brochures
- Equine magazines
- Equine business logos
- Explanatory photos in horse non fiction books
- Horse clothing and riding gear for websites and catalogues
- Horse educational posters
I’m sure there are more than just the above! If you are comfortable around horses and enjoy posing for photographs, then perhaps this is an area you may consider pursuing and promoting yourself in?

excellent idea, I use to do a bit of modelling when I was younger, and this would be a great idea
