Stetson (Iron Horse 1) by Danielle Norman

May 18, 2020 by Christine Meunier Leave a Comment

Stetson was a book I recently downloaded on Kindle to read and review.  London Kelly is a simple country woman.  The thirty year old finds her life gets a whole lot more complicated when her father dies. Now the eldest of three girls is feeling the pressure of running her father’s ranch.  Stetson is the first book in the Iron Horse series.

London has the help of her devoted, hard working sisters but finds she is battling a male chauvinistic attitude that wants to tear her down.  The three compliment each other on the ranch. London runs the books while Holland looks after the horses and riding business.  Then Paris handles the organic growing and cooking.

Things are manageable until a pasture fire and some other target acts start to ruin the business.  London would be thankful for Deputy McManus’ assistance in the case, except for one thing: the recent one night stand she had with him.

Having had a crush on the man since high school, she is devastated by his playboy actions.  It seems easier to stay away, even though the Deputy disagrees entirely.

And so starts the romance and the mystery solving. Reading Stetson was pretty enjoyable overall. I don’t appreciate swearing in books and was on alert as I felt the author’s words before the book contained quite a bit of this!  This story followed as I anticipated, with much language that I didn’t feel was really necessary.  This aside, it was quite an enjoyable read.
