I was recently having a look on Pinterest at horse related images and posts. One really creative picture caught my eye. It was the outline of a horse, made from folded pages in a book. How cool! And the page that the image linked to was a horse pattern for sale on Etsy. Unique!
It seems that this clever person has determined exactly how you need to fold a certain number of pages in a book to create the silhouette of a horse! Further to this, she has turned it into a pattern for sale so others can do the exact same thing – genius!
Now horse patterns were honestly not something I had considered with regards to an equine career! And yet, these can be an incredible way to generate a residual income relating to horses. You create the pattern once and sell it many times and generate money each time you sell the pattern. Great!
Horse Patterns
So perhaps this idea appeals to you, but you don’t know how to create different horse silhouettes from folding paper. Well, are there other things horse related that patterns can be made for? Some quickly off the top of my head:
- Folding patterns on paper – horse shapes in origami, horse silhouettes in books
- Patterns for checkers to put on the rumps of horses for shows
- Patterns for horse related clothes such as jodhpurs and riding shirts
- Patterns for rugs
- Patterns to create horse jumps
I am sure that are many things that are horse related that horse patterns could also be made for. It’s just a question of them being thought up and then created. And from here, they can be turned into a digital product for sale so others can benefit from them. If you’re enthused by this idea, you may also want to look into the concept of an online horse store.
“Fascination with horses predated every other single thing I knew. Before I was a mother, before I was a writer, before I knew the facts of life, before I was a schoolgirl, before I learned to read, I wanted a horse.” ― Jane Smiley
