Easy Wormer Website: Product and Service in One

February 21, 2018 by Christine Meunier Leave a Comment

Recently I came across the Easy Wormer website when looking up information regarding rotation of wormers and active ingredients.   One of the first search engine results brought me to the Easy Wormer site.  Now it seems that these guys have taken a horse product – worming pastes – and added a brilliant level of customer service.

Not only are they offering products for sale, they are also able to guide you on which product would best suit your horse.  This is based on class (e.g. gelding, broodmare, aged horse) and whether the horse is mature or still growing.  When you identify the category your horse fits into, you are then shown a recommended worming schedule.  This is based on worming seasonally and rotating the active ingredient of the wormer.  Generally this is between the Mectin group and BZ group.  Using this information, you see which products of Easy Wormer are recommended for your horse.  And you learn at what time of the year to administer them.

Easy Wormer Packages

Now going one step further, these guys have set various packages on each class of horse.  Once you know what to buy, you are then guided to being able to make a purchase for one, two or more horses.  The more you buy, the greater the discount.  What a great idea!

But wait, it gets better.  Firstly you put in your order and make your payment.  Then Easy Wormer go to the trouble of sending you out the particular paste/s that are due for a specific season.  They do so each season and email a reminder a couple of weeks before you’re due to worm your horse.

So if you buy a year’s worth of worming products, then you will be sent out the appropriate wormer/s for each season as a reminder to keep your horse protected.  How cool is that?  I love this idea – such considerate customer service to really help sell a simple but vital health care product.

As she does up the property she acquires some reliable horses to use as school mounts for a riding school.  This brings in some clients and the idea of running a show forms.  Holly knows she needs to draw more attention to her facility.  A horse show seems the perfect way to do it.  And if it’s successful, the young woman can turn it into an annual event.

With her reliable and positive staff member Mckenzie, the two women get to work.  They prepare events, organise judges, put out advertising and determine entry fees.  Amongst this Holly is rapt to find she suddenly has two new borders.  One of them seems high maintenance but Holly concludes she is worth it – she’s paying the top boarding fee for her expensive gelding.

But when the boarder is found dead a week before the show, Holly questions if she can go ahead with the public event.  Would it be poor form?  To make matters worse, Holly finds herself on the end of a law suit for negligence leading to the death of her boarder.

Dying to Win is a quick and easy read full of horses.  The mystery plays out nicely but is quickly solved.  For those looking for an entertaining horse read, this book could do the trick.

Government Incentives for Equine Apprenticeships

February 14, 2018 by Christine Meunier Leave a Comment

In Australia there are government financial incentives for employers who encourage staff to undertake traineeships or apprenticeships.  Within Victoria, Australia there are government incentives for equine apprenticeships.  For someone who works on a thoroughbred stud, they could undertake a Certificate III in Horse Breeding whilst working.  When the employee enrols into the course, the employer benefits financially.  Similarly, when the employee finishes the course, the employer again receives a financial incentive.

In this way employers are more likely to encourage their staff members to gain a qualification.  They benefit financially and their staff members learn knew skills or have their current ones recognised with a qualification.

Incentives like this are worth employees knowing about – it can be a great way for them to get a qualification whilst working.  They are beneficial to employers too: their staff members get qualified whilst they receive a financial benefit from the government.  Whether you’re an employee on a horse property looking to get qualified or a manager on a horse property, it’s worth knowing about government incentives like these.

Want to take advantage of such an initiative?  Start by looking at your state government website to find out about initiatives for employees and employers.

Another option is to contact education or employment agencies that may be able to advise about such incentives.  Within Australia there is an apprenticeships organisation that is able to inform potential students and employers about how things work and how they might benefit.  If you work and you want to undertake an equine traineeship or some other form of study, be sure to do your research.  It can be easier to sell an idea to your employer when it benefits both of you.

Sweet Pony Dreams: Adventures of Lulu and Bug (A Christmas Full of Horses! Book 5) by L.B. Shively

February 12, 2018 by Christine Meunier Leave a Comment

Following on in the adventures of Lulu and Bug, the fifth book in the series is titled A Christmas Full of Horses!  On another adventure with Bug in the land of dreams, Lulu finds herself visiting an elderly gentleman.  He is lonely as he is now in a care facility and his family cannot visit much.

Lulu is delighted to find that he is a fan of horses and the two talk about Bug’s good qualities.  The gentleman reminisces about his years on the family ranch before he had to go into care.  The two part with Lulu having cheered up the older gentleman by her visit and her beautiful horse.

When Lulu awakens, she is excited to realise that it is Christmas Eve.  Her parents are sharing with her an incredible Christmas present.  The whole ? family takes a trip where Lulu is delighted to find that she’ll be volunteering at an equine rescue facility.  As far as the young girl is concerned, this is the best Christmas ever.

Sweet Pony Dreams #5: A Christmas Full of Horses!

A Christmas Full of Horses focuses on helping others and helping horses.  The story is sure to entertain younger readers.  The only issue I had with it was a change in tenses throughout the paragraphs.  Things might start out in past tense and then change to present tense more than once.
