A previous colleague of mine is now involved in an exciting initiative called the International Centre for Equine Excellence. According to their website:
ICEE is a professional company whose mission is to provide the horse community in Korea and South East Asia with high level consultation services, educational training workshops, accredited training and international qualifications in all things equine.
Horses – particularly in the racing industry – are available to people worldwide. If you learn skills in one country and are able to gain a qualification, then this can set you up for international travel and work.
Being able to visit other countries and use horse related skills can put you in a position to gain more skills, contacts and even better rates of pay and horse related positions. It’s great to see this initiative that has been set up for horse enthusiasts in Korea and South East Asia. I’m sure the International Centre for Equine Excellence will go a long way to help people local to Korea and South East Asia gain skills, knowledge and qualifications that will put them in good stead all around the world.

If you check out the above link, then you can find out more about the ICEE and who founded it. There is also a page dedicated to qualifications and workshops. Qualifications available in 2017 include:
- Equine sports massage therapy
- Equine photonic therapy
- Equine musculoskeletal therapy
- Certificate II in racing
There are also workshops that cover a myriad of topics. These include working safely with horses, stable duties, coaching, health and welfare, nutrition and managing a horse business. Be sure to check out the ICEE website for further details and contact information.
